Bruce Soord confirms next TPT re-issue as ‘What We Have Sown’

0

The Pineapple Thief’s ‘What We Have Sown’, released in October 2007, was the band’s final album for Cyclops Records, before signing to post-progressive label Kscope. The album has been unavailable for quite some time, so Bruce Soord has announced that it will re-issued soon – hopefully it will receive the same re-issue treatment as ’10 Stories Down’, ‘Variations on a Dream’ and ‘Little Man’ – three TPT records that have been remastered and re-issued on Kscope over the last couple of years. Bruce also stated that the re-issue will be mail order only, which sadly means that it won’t be available at any local music stores.

Bruce Soord and Steve Kitch are currently in Prague at Smécky Studios recording for The Pineapple Thief’s next album with The Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. Both band members have been tweeting since arriving in Prague yesterday. I’ll continually update the gallery below with their Twitter photos as they come in. TPT’s ninth studio album will be released on Kscope in September 2012. Scott from Kscope has travelled with Bruce and Steve to film a Q&A session, which will feature questions recently submitted by fans on the band’s official Facebook & Twitter pages.

“This is the most mentally exhausting album of all time” – Bruce Soord

Bruce Soord has been tweeting about The Pineapple Thief’s ninth studio album, due to be released on Kscope in September 2012. According to his tweets, mixing is about 70% complete, and that the record will sound “very different” to what the band’s previous studio effort ‘Someone Here Is Missing’ sounded like.

Mixing is about 70% complete. It's gonna be a very different sound to SHIM. This is going to lose and gain you. No point standing still tho.

Mixing with Mark and Steve can be seriously bad for one's health. Extended detox period starts today!

Steve Kitch has also been busy recently tracking drums with Keith Harrison for a re-recorded version of ‘Light Up Your Eyes’, due to be released on a 5-track EP in June, alongside new material from the band’s forthcoming studio album.
